When the Year 7/8s were away at Technology we had our own Technology Challenge.Using just sheets of newspaper, one sheet of card and sellotape we had to work together to meet this challenge.
A plane has crashed into a ravine.Your radio works, but the surrounding hills block reception out.We had to build a tower as tall as we could(to get reception)but also strong enough to hold the weight of the radio. We worked well in teams and listened to each others ideas. Not all towers were strong enough to hold the radio, but we learnt a lot and had FUN.

On April 1st Mr.Paterson told us that a satellite would be passing over at 11.15 to take a photo of the school for google earth.James did a great job in getting the whole school organised. What was the date again ???? Yes we were APRIL FOOLS
After many lunchtime practices we challenged Havelock to a game of cricket. We scored 156 with Jhudge topscoring with 49.Jonny with 11 and Axel with 15 also batted well. With an excellent bowling and fielding effort we managed to bowl Havelock out for 75.Jakeb,Jonty and Jonny took 3 wickets each, and Corey,James and Angus got two each.Tai and Sean took a wicket each.Kohri was the fielder of the day pulling off many fine saves.Jonny did an excellent job as captain and Jakeb helped him out as vice captain. We were rapped that so many parents came to watch and support us.We especially want to thank Mr Brown who rolled the wicket and Mr McKay who scored the game for us.Jonny gave an excellent speech after the match and we enjoyed the food and drink after our really good team performance and Win !!
Our winning team was: Jonny(capt),Jakeb (v-cap),Jonty,James,Axel,Angus,Kenai,Jhudge,Tai,Sean,Cullyn,Corey and our secret weapon Kohri !!
